Hila Shemesh (Cohen) was born in Hamra, Iraq and lived separately from her husband with her two sons. The family arrived in Israel in 1950, to the Shaar Aliya camp. From there they moved to Shivte Israel st, corner of Mea Shearim st. in Musrara, Jerusalem.
