Rafi Saadon was born in Jerusalem in 1965. His parents, Eliyahu and Mary, immigrated to Israel in 1956 and met there. Mary had arrived with her four sons from a previous marriage Matityahu, Sami, Reuven, and Mordechai and with Eliyahu, she had six more children born in the Musrara neighborhood: David, Rina, Rafi, Shalom (Charlie), Yoram, and Grazia. In the early years, the family lived on Mishmarot Street, and in 1966, they moved to HaChoma HaShlishit Street. The family left the neighborhood in 1988.
