Yvette Goldstein, daughter of the Sarrou family, was born in Fez, Morocco, into a family of rabbis She immigrated to Israel via France in ’49, and after a year of moving from place to place, her family arrived in Musrara.
Yvette met her husband, Shabtai Goldstein, in the neighborhood, and they had five children: Moshe (of blessed memory), Sarah, Sharon, Chaim, and Eyal. Today, Yvette lives in the Gilo neighborhood of Jerusalem.
In an interview, she talks about the hardships and challenges faced by a large immigrant family in Musrara during the early days of the state.
