יוסף וג’ולי מימון נולדו בעיר גאבס בתוניס. They immigrated to Israel in 1956 with their five children: Denis (Dalia), Colette (Tamar), Giselle (Orly), Felix (Moshe), and Mary (Miriam). After arriving in Israel, Yehudit and Eli were born.
The father worked in Tunisia as a tailor and shop owner, and continued to work in the profession on a smaller scale in Israel. The family arrived at a transit camp in Sderot and moved on their own to Musrara.
